All students deserve equal access to higher education. This summer, I am offering FREE help with personal statements in exchange for a donation to BLM or related org.
I grew up near Seattle, Washington, and love everything about the Pacific Northwest. I first learned Swedish as an exchange student in Osby, Sweden, and have been studying the language and culture ever since.
After college, I traveled the world for ten years, working as a flight attendant for United Airlines. In 2004, I received my MS in Education and began working as an academic adviser and teacher at Olympic College.
In 2011, twenty years after I had first lived in Sweden, I decided to take my Swedish to a higher level, and returned to graduate school to earn my MA in Scandinavian Language and Literature from the University of Washington.
I currently work at the University of Washington as a Swedish Lecturer and Academic Adviser for the Scandinavian Department.
I am starting my fifth year teaching Swedish at the University of Washington. I have also taught Strategies for Success courses at Olympic College, facilitated workshops for international students at Edmonds Community College, and co-directed a study abroad program to Sweden.
In my free time, I love to travel, plan new adventures, and read travel memoirs. I also enjoy hiking, practicing yoga, listening to storytelling podcasts, and riding the ferry.
I am always looking for new projects and interesting ways to apply my skills and talents. I look forward to discussing how we can work together.
